FANS of dance music in South Wales are in for a real treat this year as Logic Festival is returnins to Swansea on Saturday September 7.
The festival is now in its fourth year, and this time its bigger and better with bigger name DJs, more arenas and three licenced bars to keep you refreshed and ready to party. New for 2019 there are also six arenas of which one is a chill out area and the bigger name DJ’s make this the best event that Wales has to offer, without a doubt.
For those of you that know the Logic Festival history it will come as no surprise that the owners have gone all out for 2019 to bring a diverse line up of world class DJs playing alongside the best that Wales has to offer in DJ talent, with some returning names that had such a great time in 2018 that they just had to come again and witness the legendary Logic Festival atmosphere for themselves, first hand.
Returning this year are headliners in the both the Trance and Hard Dance arena’s, Judge Jules and Darren Styles. Making first appearances in the Trance Arena are Dance Anthems legend Dave Pearce, German superstar Scot Project and all the way from Israel is BLiSS the DJ/ guitarist who jams along to his own tracks! Not to be outdone the Hard Dance arena features sets from UK hard dance legend Andy Whitby and flying in from Germany is the infamous Uberdruck. He will be playing alongside two Italian Hardstyle titans Technoboy and Francesco Zeta who again have flown in specially for Logic Festival 4.
And completely new for 2019 is the Clubland Classix arena where revellers can hear some of the biggest and best dance anthems ever made being played by the likes of: Ian Van Dahl who will be performing a live PA, and DJ sets from N – Trance, 4 Strings, Flip and Fill, Breeze and Scott Brown. This is a welsh festival exclusive so don’t miss out on the only chance you will get in 2019 to see so many heroes of Clubland all under one roof.
With a bigger line up, comes a higher capacity and more amenities for the public like two extra bars that have been custom built to stop the bottleneck effect that the extra numbers will bring with the event, more toilets on site so that queuing can be avoided and for the first time ever, a proper chill out arena has been added playing laid back vibes all day which has been inspired by the Balearic sound of ibiza, the party capital of Europe.
When asked to comment on all of the new improvements, the festival organiser and Logic brand owner Jason Pufal said: “No expense has been spared this year to make Logic Festival 4 the best event it could possibly be, as a thank you to all of the loyal customers who come every year and make the event so special.”
“In preparation for the bigger crowd that we are expecting this year, due to the fact that we have in effect supersized Logic Festival 4, everything about the event will be improved for 2019 and we are greatly looking forward to opening the gates for 12 hours of solid dance music based entertainment.”
So if you want to witness the best in dance music in six fully covered arenas in 2019, there is only one destination to head for and that is: Logic Festival 4, Ynysforgan Farm, Morriston, Swansea on Saturday September 7th, with the gates opening at 11am. We hope to see you there amongst a crowd of thousands!
Excitement builds as Bollywood comes to Carmarthenshire
LLANELLI’S Ffwrnes theatre is to host the red carpet premiere of a new Bollywood film that was partly shot in the town’s rugby stadium.
Bollywood Hollywood Production has chosen Carmarthenshire for the first Welsh screening of its new film Jungle Cry, based on the inspiring true story of 12 underprivileged and orphan children from Kalinga Institute in India’s Odisha region, following their triumphant journey to the International Junior Rugby Tournament held in the UK in 2007.
The rugby scenes were filmed in Wales, including at Llanelli’s Parc y Scarlets where the film’s match final was shot.
It features cameos by some of the sport’s top names, including international referee Nigel Owens, and Scarlets, Wales and British Lions fly half Phil Bennett – both from Carmarthenshire.
Carmarthenshire County Council, University of Wales Trinity St David and the Scarlets have joined the project as brand partners, and the council is hosting the exclusive invitation-only premiere at Y Ffwrnes on March 10 ahead of the film’s release to cinemas worldwide in April.
Executive Board Member for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths, said: “It’s an honour to host the Welsh premiere of Jungle Cry at Y Ffwrnes. We have been delighted to support the making of this film, which is based on a remarkable true story.
“We have worked hard to grow Carmarthenshire as a location for film and television productions because of the huge economic benefits it brings to the area, as we have seen with the likes of BBC drama Keeping Faith which has brought so much interest to Laugharne and Carmarthen.
“It is fantastic to see Llanelli taking pride of place on the silver screen as part of Jungle Cry. The Bollywood industry is massive and there will be a huge amount of interest in this film, which we hope will put Carmarthenshire on an even bigger international map.”
Jungle Cry tells the incredible true story of the 12 underprivileged children who came from one of India’s most tribal areas, playing sports bare foot, who went on to win to the prestigious U14 Rugby World Cup in England, making Indian and British history.
It was produced by veteran Mumbai and Hollywood producer Prashant Shah, who has also produced the likes ofMy Name is Khan, and The Bruce Lee Project.
Bollywood comes to CarmarthenshireHe said: “Jungle Cry is truly an inspiring film that promotes education, sports and helps eradicate poverty and create patriotism for every nation and we are very excited to release it to a global audience of cinemagoers in April.”
Harry’s Halloween magic in town centre
The people of Llanelli were spellbound last week as Harry Potter lookalikes arrived in Stepney Square for Ymlaen Llanelli’s Halloween extravaganza. Harry, Ron and Hermione lookalikes met children and adults alike on Tuesday 29th October after riding into town in a replica of the Weasley’s flying car, flanked by Dumbledore and a dementor guard.
A stunning replica of Hogwarts wowed the crowds; made completely out of recycled materials, it took local crafter Christine Clarke six months to create from scratch.
Event-goers also had the chance to see Harry and friends’ beloved pet owls up close in a display from West Wales Falconry.
Chair of Ymlaen Llanelli, Lesley Richards, said it was a great day: “There were so many children dressed up as their favourite characters and it was so lovely to see. Everyone had a magical time – we love putting on these children’s events and we’re glad that the kids love them too!”
At the event were Family Housing and the Wallich, who joined forces to give out 100 free packed lunches and pairs of gloves to children as part of Eradication of Poverty Day.
There were also arts and crafts including a special wandmaking table organised by Fusion, as well as facepainting and balloon modelling. Harry and Hermione even joined in the fun and took a turn on the children’s ride with some young witches and wizard.
Club Logic launch weekend – Friday 28th and Saturday 29th June
THIS WEEKEND is a date for your diary if you are a clubber or like live music and comedy as it is the launch of Club Logic, 12 High Street, Gorseinon, Swansea SA4 4BX. Previously called The Rainbow Rooms, the venue has just undergone a full refurb with a change of decor and structural work both inside and out ready for the launch of Friday and Saturday nights at Club Logic.
There is also a new uprated sound system and a lighting rig going in so no expense has been spared to bring the venue up to date with the best that the industry has to offer. When asked about the changes Club Logic’s owner Jason Pufal said: “When we opened originally we had to make do with a large space and a simple lay out but for this refurb we wanted to make the venue more intimate. This has been done with structural changes and it should now have less of that warehouse feel to it”
This is just phase one of the improvements that they have planned for the venue and like any state of the art venue, Club Logic will evolve to meet the changing needs of its clientele thus giving their customers the best of what they have to offer, when and where it is needed. This policy of constant improvement is what gives Club Logic the edge over its competition and other late night watering holes in the locality.
Entertainment wise, they have looked at what has worked over the past 5 years and what hasn’t and have changed things round accordingly. From the launch date of Friday 28th this month there will be a monthly band night at the end of each month featuring local bands that are well loved by the audience and they will be introducing open microphone nights on the other Fridays so that anyone with a talent to perform is welcome to at Club Logic.
For the Saturdays they have looked at the nights where they bring in the big name artists and have made the decision to stop this policy and to concentrate on the assets they have already in their own resident DJs. After all it is the residents that play there every week and know the crowd and what they want to hear, so from the launch date onwards, there will just be themed nights like a monthly Trance event and House and Hard Dance etc, All under the brand name of Logic. There will be guest DJs but they will be local DJs who also understand the needs of the of the wants and needs of the customers.
With all of these changes going on at Club Logic the owners have been rushed off their feet as they are also working hard on the Logic Festival 4 which takes place on Saturday 7th September at Ynysforgan Farm and will be the biggest and best one yet with six arenas of DJ’s performing to an expected crowd of over 3000 people. This boutique dance festival offers the best in entertainment and features World class DJs and the best that Wales has to offer all under six canvassed roofs. Tickets are selling well and go up in price in July so get them while you can at the bargain price of £30.
