He decided to pursue journalism at the suggestion of his father, Dick Carlson, who is a reporter himself and the former director of Voice of America. Tucker started his career as a fact-checker for Policy Review. News Television Career

Carlson started his television career with CNN in 2001 as a co-host for the show, Crossfire. From 2004 to 2005, he hosted Tucker Carlson: Unfiltered on PBS. After that, he got a show named Tucker on MSNBC from 2005 to 2008. Carlson joined Fox News as a contributor in 2009 and made regular appearances on various shows.

In 2016, Carlson was given the opportunity to host his own show on Fox News, named Tucker Carlson Tonight. The show quickly gained high ratings on the network, with Carlson’s direct and conservative approach impressing a significant number of viewers. However, in April 2023, the commentator’s surprise departure from Fox was announced.

“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.” Fox host Harris Faulkner revealed that the host and the network mutually decided to go separate ways. His final broadcast on the network took place on April 21st, 2023.

Other Ventures and Properties

Apart from his hosting career, Carlson also signed a book publishing deal with Threshold Editions for a whopping $15 million. He went on to author the books Ship of Fools: How a Selfish Ruling Class Is Bringing America to the Brink of Revolution in 2018 and The Long Slide: Thirty Years in American Journalism in 2021.

Carlson has also invested heavily in real estate. In 2017, he and his wife Susan bought a house in Washington D.C. for around $4 million and sold it three years later. In 2022, Carlon purchased a home on Gasparilla Island in Florida for $2.9 million. In 2022, he bought another property in the same neighborhood for $5.5 million. Earlier n 2011, Tucker and Susan bought a house worth $2 million in Kent, Washington D.C., and sold it at a slightly higher price in November 2017.
