Elon Musk replaces Twitter’s iconic blue bird logo with a dog meme

Elon Musk has bid adieu to Twitter’s iconic blue bird logo! Recently, the billionaire shared the new logo on Twitter by uploading a screenshot of a conversation. He simply captioned the post, “As promised.” The screenshot showed a chat between Musk and a Twitter user ‘Chairman’ whose username was @WSBChairman”.

On March 26, 2022, Elon took to his Twitter page and tweeted, “Is a new platform needed?” to which the social media user Chairman replied, “Just buy Twitter.” Along with this, the Twitter user also suggested Musk to “change the bird logo to a doge.” Soon after, the businessman responded to the user by saying, “Haha that would sickkk”.

How did the netizens react to Elon Musk’s latest move?

Many social media users think that Twitter’s logo change can be an April Fools’ joke pulled off by the business tycoon Elon Musk. However, it can be something bigger than that as well. Since the time, Musk changed the logo of Twitter to doge meme, the price of cryptocurrency Dogecoin has skyrocketed by a total of 10 percent.

One social media user penned, “We really don’t have a clue on what happens on this platform anymore. @elonmusk just replaced the #bluebird with the infamous #dogememe .” Another  user chimed in, “Can we all agree that Twitter has been way more fun under the leadership of @elonmusk? Between his memes, dogecoin tweets, and occasional controversy, my timeline has never been more entertaining #DOGE.”

A user went on to say, “Is @elonmusk the next @officialmcafee in the making? Pump and Dump Schemes are highly volatile and can’t sustain long. Avoid such rallies.” Followed by a user who penned, “Since twitter has changed its logo from bird to dog, would it be renamed to “barker”?? And would tweets be renamed to “barks.”

When did Elon Musk buy Twitter?

In April 2022, Elon announced that he had bought more than 9% of Twitter’s shares on the open market. Soon after, he made an offer to buy Twitter for about $44 billion. Then, he mentioned that his main goal was to apply free speech principles to the platform, which he stated had been mismanaged.

Twitter gave a green light to Musk’s offer by the end of April 2022. Around the same time, he tweeted, “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter because that is what free speech means.” Next month, it was reported that Elon put the deal to buy the social media platform on hold. He officially took over Twitter in October of the same year.
