During their marriage, Emily Ruth and Kennedy Jr. welcomed two kids together: son Robert Francis “Bobby” Kennedy III (born in 1984) and daughter Kathleen Alexandra (‘Kick’) Kennedy (born in 1988).
Kennedy Jr. and Emily parted ways in 1992 and they divorced two years later in 1994. During a 1996 interview with New York magazine, Black spilled the beans on her relationship with the nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy. As per Opoyi, at that time, she said, “He’s a wonderful father, but he’s not a faithful husband.” Despite their separation, the two of them have continued to be on friendly terms.

Soon after his 1994 split from his first wife Emily Ruth Black, Robert moved on in his life with Mary Richardson.
