Drake Bell has been found hours after being reported missing by the police. On Thursday morning, The Daytona Beach Police Department had announced that the actor was missing from the previous night and could be ‘endangered.’
A few hours after the announcement, the police posted an update, stating that the 36 year old has been located and is safe. Bell shot to fame as a child star with Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh. In the last few years, he has consistently made news for his arrests and legal troubles.
Drake Bell Found Safe After Being Reported Missing
The Daytona Beach Police Department took to Facebook on Thursday morning to post a picture of Drake Bell and announce that he was last seen around a high school on the night of April 12, and has been missing ever since.
“Officers are looking for Jared Bell, DOB 06/27/1986. He should be traveling in a 2022 grey BMW and his last known location is potentially the area of Mainland High School on 4/12/2023 just before 9p.m. He is considered missing and endangered. If you know where he is or have any information, please contact Detective Jayson Wallace,” the police wrote.
Facebook users were confused over the post, and many thought that it could be a prank. However, the police replied, “For those asking, this is a legitimate post from the Daytona Beach Police Department. If you have any information, please contact Detective Jayson Wallace.”
Around four hours after the initial post, the police announced that Bell had been found and is safe. “At this time, we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe,” they wrote.
The Actor has Sparked Several Controversies in Recent Years
Bell is well known for his lead role in the hit Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh, which aired from 2004 to 2007. He also starred in the shows The Amanda Show and The Fairly OddParents, and appeared in the films Yours, Mine and Ours and Superhero Movie.
Over the last few years, he has constantly made headlines owing to his controversies. In 2015, he spent a day in prison over the suspicion of DUI. The subsequent year, he was charged with a misdemeanor. In 2020, his ex-girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt also alleged verbal and physical abuse; however, he denied the allegations.
Then in 2021, he was charged with attempted child endangerment and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. Bell was arrested on the basis of a complaint by the 15 year old victim, who also accused him of sexual misconduct. However, the actors’ attorney refuted the claims.
Bell eventually pleaded guilty to the endangerment charges and was sentenced to two years of probation and 200 hours of community service. He was also ordered not to contact the victim. Meanwhile, he also went through a divorce with his wife, Janet Von Schmeling.
The couple had gotten married in 2018 in a secret wedding and share a son named Jeremy. They are now ‘committed to maintaining a peaceful co-parenting relationship and giving their son the best life possible,’ revealed a source.
